That said, once we get past these hardships you need to be ready to hit the ground running when you do shadow a CRNA. This could mean the difference between when you actually apply to a CRNA school and even whether or not you get accepted.

Well, she convinced me to sign up for the surgical tech program she was head of and so I became a surgical tech or at least started Surgical Tech program while I was on the waiting list for Nursing. Before that, I never even heard of a CRNA. I applied for CRNA school. So I deferred a year.

I also saw that equipment storage areas are always a mess and never big enough, no matter what country you’re in… My assignment for the week I was assigned to OR 1, and I would be working with a lovely surgical tech named Shannon. No other case was as rough as that one, and by the end of the week, we were a well-oiled machine.
